your heart still feels for your homeland and you want to make sure we have a free Iran for the future generations as well. So I commend you for that quest and for that leadership.”

In his remarks, Assemblyman Dante Acosta (R) wished all his, “Persian friends a happy Nowruz and said, “thank all of you for coming up to the State Capital today and sharing your vision for a free Iran and a free Iranian people. So I commend you for that quest and for that leadership.”
Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado area Assemblyman Kevin Kiley (R) invoked the great Iranian literature and commended the community for fighting for, “universal values that we here in the US all believe in and that we yearn for the people of Iran to get to experience as well. So I thank you for you advocacy and for fighting for the principles that all people deserve to have respected.”
Mr. Kiley also added, “Having a democratic and non-nuclear Iran for example, and being able to sanction human rights violators and fight for reform. These are such important things for anyone who has the power to speak out to do so and to try to lead the way for positive change. So I’m very proud to be with you today, to stand with you in the call for freedom and democracy in Iran… I look forward to the chance to work with you on these principles in the years ahead.”
State Assemblyman Matthew Harper (R) representing California’s 4th District said in his remarks, “It is an honor to be here to help celebrate Nowruz and also hear about the work that’s being done to celebrate and support democracy in Iran. So very happy to be here to listen to what you have to say and to be able to learn more about your organization and celebrate this happy New Year.”

Inhumanity in the Name of Jesus: Catholic Dogma Which Led to the Holocaust also Led to the Cover-Up of Clergy Sex Abuse

Cover of the Kindle version of book

Cover from Book

New book argues that it is the history and magisterium of the Catholic Church which made the Holocaust possible and the cover-up of clergy sex abuse inevitable.

The DNA of the Catholic Church and its belief in its own infallibility didn't just make the cover-up of clergy abuse possible. It made it inevitable. Victims were regarded as collateral damage.”

— G.R. Pafumi

SPRING VALLEY, NEW YORK, USA, March 21, 2018 / — G.R. Pafumi has released the first of two volumes about sex abuse in the Catholic Church, Inhumanity in the Name of Jesus. Volume I: Pain and Suffering, Aftermath of the Catholic Church’s Belief in its Own Infallibility. With sex abuse accusations against major celebrities and public figures, such as Harvey Weinstein, Charlie Rose and Matt Lauer, Pafumi focused on victims abused by Catholic clergy. They paved the way for the #MeToo movement. Victims of Catholic clergy are no longer willing to remain silent about the abuse they suffered, sometimes decades ago. Pope Francis is currently dealing with the fallout from his trip to Chile, where he defended a bishop who covered for a clergy sex offender. The Pope accused the alleged victims of calumny even though he was given an eight-page letter from one of the victims. It seems the Pope lied. Why?

The Catholic Church, including the sex abuse crisis, is not easily understood without a consideration of the Church’s history. The cover-up of sex abuse was inevitable because of the Church's belief in its ecclesiastical infallibility and its long history of unchecked power. The Church believes it is never wrong because it has been guided by the Holy Spirit for nearly 2,000 years ago. The Holy Spirit would not allow the Church or its popes to make errors in its magisterium, i.e. teaching authority. Pafumi asks, “Where was Holy Spirit when the Jews were being persecuted and children sexually molested?” Since the first century, Jews have been identified by the Church as Christ killers. Jewish disdain is manifest in the Apostolic constitution Ineffabilis Deus (Ineffable-indescribable-God), a decree promulgated by Pope Pius IX in 1854. The Virgin Mary was claimed to be conceived without the stain of original sin. Her entire ancestry back to Adam needed to be immaculately conceived, since the Jewish faith is passed along through maternal parentage. By having an immaculately conceived heritage, Mary had no Jewish blood. It appears that the real purpose of this constitution was to de-Jewify Jesus by de-Jewifying his mother and her ancestry.

Since the second century, Church leaders recognized there was abuse of minors. But as recently as 2018, the pope himself became an abuse denier. One way to view the cover-ups of child abuse is unapologetic clericalism. Pope Francis called accusations against a Chilean Bishop [Juan Barros] who covered up sex abuse, “all calumny.” Yet the Pope was given an eight-page letter from a Chilean victim in April 2015, shortly after the elevation of Barros to bishop. Francis steadfastly refused to rescind that appointment despite objections from Chilean clergy. Pope Francis implicitly invoked the medieval concept of privilegium fori, i.e. only the Church can judge itself. Privilegium fori seems to be the reason why there is no mandatory reporting requirement. Clergy supervisors, mainly bishops, are not required by the Church to turn over clergy offenders to the civil authorities unless required by local civil law. The Church would rather protect offenders instead of ridding itself of this cancer, i.e. child molesters in its midst. The promotion of Bishop Barros in Chile clearly shows that this attitude goes all the up to the pope.

The Church opposes sex abuse laws which include a look-back period for victims abused years or decades ago. When Guam enacted legislation in 2016 eliminating the statute of limitations for past sex crimes against children, the Church challenged the constitutionality of the law as a violation of ex-post facto provisions in the U.S. Constitution. The State of New York has failed to pass the Child Victims Act for more than a decade, in part due to lobbying by the Church. Expanding or eliminating the statute of limitations is less about protecting kids from Catholic clergy now and in the future (at least in the developed countries). It is more about making restitution to the people who are still in pain from abuse of decades past.

The Church is still muddled in the Counter-Reformation, which began shortly after the Protestant and Anglican Reformations of the early and mid 16th century. Now the Counter-Reformation is less about fighting the Protestants and more about fighting modernity. The Church's rejection of modernity is clearly seen in its views about birth control, abortion, divorce, and females in the priesthood. The misogyny of the Church and belief in its own infallibility makes it think it can interfere with the right to choose for women who are not even Catholic. The Church’s view in its infallibility limits its ability to change its mind or alter its principles to adopt to changing social mores. It was widely believed that Pope Paul VI would allow women to use birth control after “The Pill” was approved by the FDA in 1960. Instead, Paul VI limited birth control to the “rhythm method” or abstinence. In 1968, Paul VI chose to sustain the precedent set about birth control in an encyclical issued by Pope Pius XI in 1930.

This book will explore the history of the Church from the first century until modern times. It will describe how the marriage of the Christian Church and state in the fourth century changed the course of Western history. This will help the reader understand why the cover-up of clergy abuse of children has become a worldwide phenomenon, where victims are treated as nothing more than collateral damage. Without new legislation and better law enforcement in the developed countries, kids would likely still be abused in large numbers by Catholic clergy. Sadly, they still are being abused in Africa, the Philippines, and other less-developed countries where the Church wields significant influence. Pafumi concludes, "The Church may well be a dinosaur on its way to extinction." Like a dinosaur, it has failed to adapt to a changing environment.

Black Women endorse 10,000 Black Men’s Convention

By Doshon Farad

“The National Black Men's Convention and 10,000 Black Men's March is a guaranteed pathway to healing our Brothers, of all ages.”

— P. Renae Brooks

WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, March 20, 2018 / — Washington, D.C.-The daughter of Malcolm X, author and educator Ilyasah Shabazz recently endorsed the upcoming National Black Men's Convention and 10,000 Black Men’s March set to take place in Banneker City (Washington, D.C.) from April 18-22 at the historic Shiloh Baptist Church. Not only has Ms. Shabazz endorsed the event, but she has also agreed to participate and keynote at least one of its sessions. She, however, is not the only prominent Black woman to give her unconditional support.
Although convention organizers say that its primary focus is Black men, they have made clear that not only are Black women not being excluded but are also playing a major role in its development.

During a time when the public is bombarded with several negative images of Black women being loud, trifling, drama queens, and anti-Black man; we thought it was necessary to help erase these demonizing stereotypes that actually contradict the history of Black women.

For centuries-from Queen Nzinga in Angola to Tamika Mallory in America-Black women (who Malcolm X said were the “most disrespected and unprotected” people in America) have played a pivotal role in the Black Liberation Struggle across the globe.

Dr. Michael Eric Dyson once said, “Black women must challenge Black men to live up to their best in every arena of the culture-at job, at home, in school, and in religious arenas.” In this special piece, Your Black World spoke with several dynamic sisters from different parts of the country who are helping to manifest next month’s gathering. And they each personify Dyson’s suggestion.

Meet Newark, N.J. native P. Renae Brooks who serves as an advisor to convention Chairman Attorney Malik Zulu Shabazz. She offers tremendous optimism and hopes that the event will benefit the overall Black community.

“The National Black Men's Convention and 10,000 Black Men's March is a guaranteed pathway to healing our Brothers, of all ages. This convention and march are necessary today because we cannot dwell on how we arrived into this state-of-being. We, Brothers and Sisters, absolutely must step-up and stand firm while reclaiming our whole-self. We must be able and equipped with a sound-mind to function one-hundred percent in our health, education, economics, spirituality, family nurturing and community affairs. Once achieved, in unity and commitment, the Black Nation will take its rightful place and position.”

Longtime activist and Washington, D.C. native Aisha Muhammad explains how having Black male siblings produced in her a dedicated love and appreciation for Black men.

“I am Afrocentric and African Centered and I really believe in organizing and unifying for the empowerment of the diaspora, especially Black men. I feel that I should support it because I come from a family of all brothers. I have a son and all grandsons. So my goal is to see that our men have the most support that they can have from us and to see them do their best as heads of the household and heads of the community. So it’s my pleasure to give my support to see that brothers have an overstanding as to what the community needs from them. So why not support and let them know exactly what Black women need as wives, sisters, and as mothers? Who else better to tell brothers what we need and to be in support of them.”

Brooklyn native and activist Sister Yaa Asantewaa-who has been traveling the country garnering support for the convention-spoke of the ongoing war being waged against Black men, and how Black women should continue to serve as allies.

“Well, the main reason is to support our Black men. Our men have been up against so much opposition ever since we were stolen from Africa and brought to America. We have to lift up our men. And we have to lift each other up. Black men are the target of America. They’re the target of prison, mass incarceration, drugs, and murder. They are branded as thieves, thugs, and murderers. They are even accused of not being men and not taking care of their responsibilities. We know that a system has been set up to keep Black men at the bottom. So we as Black women stand up with our men and say to them ‘We’re with you. We will stand with you and we will fight with you.’”

Washington, D.C. area radio host Reverend Jeanette Pollard whose church (she is not the pastor) Shiloh Baptist is where the convention is being held mentioned Black women’s role in the sojourn of the Black community in America.

“We need unity in the Black race. We need to support Black men who are the targets of police killings, unemployment, and a lot of different things. And we as Black women-since slavery and the Civil Rights Movement-have a history of supporting our men in their positive endeavors. The National Black Men’s Convention provides a larger space for Black women to further demonstrate our love for Black men. If we uplift the Black man we will ultimately uplift the Black family.”

ELERTS' See Say App Combats Human Trafficking; Wins SWTA 'Be The Solution' Award

ELERTS: best-in-class emergency communication software, empowered by community-sourced reporting of safety and security concerns

Transits Can Help Fight Human Trafficking

Ten Leading Transit Agencies power up ELERTS' app to receive "Human Trafficking" reports from employees and passengers

The public needs an easier way to report suspicious behaviors, without having to get overly involved with the authorities, and ELERTS enables transit agencies to make that happen for riders.”

— Kristen Joyner, Executive Director of SWTA

WEYMOUTH, MA, UNITED STATES, March 20, 2018 / — ELERTS Corp, the leading provider of See Something Say Something mobile apps for transportation agencies, announced that it received the 'Be The Solution' Award for its efforts to combat Human Trafficking in transit, at the South West Transit Association's (SWTA) 2018 Freedom Through Transit Conference. SWTA is an association representing transit agencies in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

SWTA is passionate about bringing awareness to the crime of human trafficking and giving hope to victims, celebrating the efforts of public transportation agencies as leaders in this fight. Reporting human trafficking is the newest crime-fighting capability available in ELERTS See Say app and it has been quickly adopted. Already, transit agencies are receiving reports of Human Trafficking from passengers via their ELERTS app.

Human Trafficking is a crime involving the exploitation of someone for the purposes of compelled labor or a commercial sex act through the use of force, fraud, or coercion. It is a large problem in transportation, whether on the ground or in the air, because trains, buses and airplanes are used to transport victims to their final, dismal destinations. Catching traffickers while in transit is one of the few opportunities to do so before their victims disappear from public sight. The Department of Transportation developed the Transportation Leaders Against Human Trafficking (TLAHT) initiative to encourage transportation and travel industry stakeholders to maximize their collective impact in combating human trafficking.

"It's important to empower transit agency employees and riders with an easy way to report suspicious behaviors, especially those behaviors that may fall into the human trafficking category," said Kristen Joyner, Executive Director of SWTA. "Trafficking victims are often 'hidden in plain sight,' and people may spot criminals transporting their victims. The public needs an easier way to report suspicious behaviors, without having to get overly involved with the authorities, and ELERTS enables transit agencies to make that happen for riders."

With a mobile app like ELERTS See Say, transit agencies can empower people to report suspected trafficking with the push of a button on their phone. 16 leading transit agencies already use ELERTS See Say app to crowd-source safety and security concerns.

"Transportation plays a role in human trafficking and we want to deploy tools to help rescue victims as they are moved to a new destination – collectively, we can make a difference," said Ed English, CEO of ELERTS. "The more eyes and ears keeping watch, the better. ELERTS helps riders feel safer on transit systems."
Transit agencies that have enabled Human Trafficking reporting in their ELERTS-powered apps include:
1. Atlanta MARTA
2. Philadelphia SEPTA
3. San Francisco BART
4. Dallas DART
5. Sacramento SacRT
6. Boston MBTA
7. Buffalo NFTA
8. Jacksonville JTA
9. Tri-Delta ECCTA
10. Santa Clara VTA

ELERTS develops best-in-class emergency communication software, empowered by community-sourced reporting of safety and security concerns with mobile phones. The company is the leading provider of See Something Say Something apps to transportation agencies. ELERTS cloud-based approach integrates smartphone technologies with video surveillance, access control and mass-notification systems to provide actionable, crowd-sourced situational awareness for first responders.

Mission: Clean Water for All

Largest Solar Powered Water Pumping

WolrdWater(tm) & Solar Celebrates 34 Yrs of Water Pumping for Large Scale Irrigation & Purification Using Only Sunshine, & Celebrates UN World Water Day 2018.

(PRINCETON, NJ – March 14, 2018) On March 22, 2018, WorldWater® and Solar Technologies (WWST), America’s longest continuing solar technology company, will celebrate World Water Day and 34 years as a leader that has revolutionized the field of clean water and solar power. WWST’s activities began nearly a decade before World Water Day was officially established by the United Nations in 1993.

“Ensuring that people have access to clean water is one of the most urgent civic and public health crises of the 21st century,” said Quentin T. Kelly, Chair and CEO of WWST. “This is our mission.”

WWST’s is the only company with the solar technology to power large motors of 600 hp or more, pumping water for agriculture and/or municipal water systems. The company also has developed powerful solar stand-alone units which create near- instant drinking water from polluted sources in disaster crises, enabling solar powered immediate infrastructure in remote regions.

WWST was the first company of its kind to unite solar power technology with large water pumps and purification systems. “I was in Sudan and saw thousands of people suffering from lack of water, as we’re now about to see in many more places, including highly developed societies such as Cape Town, South Africa and cities in South America. I came back to Princeton from Sudan and with their University engineers developed advanced technology to harness the power of the sun capable of providing large volumes of clean water, ” recalls Mr. Kelly.

WWST patented solar technology sets it apart from its competitors. Its track record of implementing large-scale solar powered agricultural solutions includes a citrus ranch in Borrego Springs, CA, pumping from a 1000 foot well to deliver 1000 gallons of water per minute. WWST is the first company in the world to pump water for farm irrigation in the Sahara Desert in Egypt, turning the desert green.

The company operates in over 30 countries worldwide, providing megawatts of solar electricity and solar agricultural water.

It is recognized that less than 1% of the world’s water is fit for human consumption, including drinking, industrial and agricultural needs. The World Health Organization estimates that by the year 2025, some 40% of the world’s population will be without access to clean water. WWST can provide on-site immediate relief in humanitarian crises such as Puerto Rico’s plight following the recent hurricanes; Haiti after the earthquake of 2010; Darfur, Sudan; Japan after its earthquake and tsunami, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Purchasers of WWST’s solar technology, including life-saving solar purification units such as the Mobile MaxPure® Reverse Osmosis system for desalinating as well as purifying water, include the US State Department, through the US General Services Administration (GSA); the US Army, Marines and Coast Guard, the US Dept. of Agriculture, the US Parks Service, and numerous private buyers, NGO’s and Foundations.

“Getting these life-saving water systems to the people in the highest areas of need is our top priority,” said Carolyn Kelly Colella, founder and Executive Director of WWST’s affiliate GlobeWater® and Solar Technologies (GWST). Ms. Kelly Colella, whose company focuses on empowering women to be leaders in clean water and clean power, added that “at WWST and GWST, we want to take the occasion of World Water Day to highlight the pressing issues facing women and the world at large to help ensure universal and immediate access to clean water.”

For World Water Day, WorldWater is sponsoring a Virtual Run organized by the nonprofit MissionCleanWater. Donations raised through this fundraiser will bring clean water to the Neema community in rural Kenya. About WorldWater® & Solar Technologies
Since 1984, WorldWater® has provided viable solutions for solar electric power and water crises globally, including patented solar-powered systems that can provide electric power as well as pump hundreds of thousands of gallons per day from lakes, rivers and deep wells for irrigation and municipal water supply. The company also produces and installs standalone, portable water filtration technologies that convert sea water and up to 30,000 gallons of polluted fresh water into clean water per day for drinking, cooking and hygiene.

AMCD Calls on Trump Administration and Prince Salman to Increase Pressure on Iran

Iran's Propaganda Machine is in Full Swing

WASHINGTON, DC, USA, March 20, 2018 / — The American Mideast Coalition for Democracy wants the Trump administration to increase pressure on Iran, not to decrease it as Philippe Nassif, executive director of In Defense of Christians in the Middle East (IDC) is advocating. Writing in The Hill, Nassif argues that the US should pressure Saudi Arabia’s visiting crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, to stop fighting against the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen.

Using Iranian weaponry, the Houthis have attacked on a US Destroyer, harassed and attacked Saudi, Emirati and other merchant ships, and have launched Iran-supplied missiles into Saudi Arabia proper, aimed directly at their civilian airport in Riyadh – a clear act of terrorism.

AMCD believes the correct response to Iran’s aggression in Yemen is to increase military pressure so that Iran must stretch its resources in Yemen at the same time it is deeply involved in Syria, thereby weakening the Islamic Republic overall. Prince Salman is proving to be an aggressive reformer seeking to bring Saudi Arabia into the modern world. He should be applauded and supported for his efforts to loosen the onerous restrictions on women in particular. Iran, on the other hand, is regressing and becoming ever more strictly Islamist as evident by its mass arrests of women who were peacefully protesting the government by merely removing their headscarves.

“Nassif has written smart pro-Iranian propaganda piece to advocate that the US pressure the Arab Coalition to quit Yemen and legitimize Iran’s role as a negotiator,” said AMCD Co-Director, Tom Harb. “Worse it is written by a group said to be defending Christians. There are no Christians in Yemen but there is an Iranian backed NGO in Washington DC that is used by Teheran to defend its interests in the region. Unfortunately, IDC is revealing itself to be an Iranian tool.”

“Where are the IDC’s recommendations for the Mullahs and Hezbollah who continue to terrorize their own people and crush any who stand in their way?” asked AMCD President John Hajjar. “It was Iranian interference that has nurtured and prolonged the conflict in Yemen. Iranian aggression must not be rewarded.”

We urge the President to support reform in the Middle East, not to strengthen its most regressive regime.
