A Letter From Dr Russell Pridgeon – The Man Who Fulfilled the Australian PM’s Promise

Dr Pridgeon writes to his medical colleagues explaining his arrest by the AFP and why he helped the sexually abused children Prof Briggs referred to him.

we can promise a country where we commit to hear and believe our children”

— Prime Minister Scott Morrison

MELBOURNE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA, November 1, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Gumshoe News has covered Dr Russell Pridgeon's arrest by the AFP (Operation Noetic), and also a response to its unfairness. It has now published the letter that Dr Russell Pridgeon wrote to his medical colleagues to explain his recent arrest. We have investigated the background and documents relating to this story, and have no doubts about the doctor's integrity.

Dr Pridgeon also wrote countless times to the Minister for Child Safety in Queensland, forwarding the late Prof Freda Brigg’s damning report, and asking the minister to assist the children in question. However, any plea to authorities to help these children seems to fall on deaf ears.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison, in his now-famous apology to victims of child abuse, delivered in Australia’s Parliament on October 24, 2018, said:

“…we can promise a country where we commit to hear and believe our children, to work together to keep children safe, to trust them and, most of all, to respect their innocence.”

In the title of this article Gumshoe indicates that Dr Pridgeon is a fulfiller of the PM’s promise.

In Dr Russell Pridgeon's LETTER, he WRITES:

"On 30 May 2018 I wrote to the Minister of Child Safety in Queensland advising her that:

“I am one of many people who sheltered and protected them [the children], in the four years that they were free of ongoing abuse. At various times I drove vast distances to transport them between places of safety… This was one of the greatest privileges of my life to be able to help these children escape the horrific abuse inflicted upon them by fiends, and enabled by Rogue Judges, lawyers and Policemen who actively hid the truth, ignored evidence, and facilitated child rape, effectively trafficking these children to paedophiles.”

"This email was cc’d to The Minister of Police in Queensland, and to Hon Christian Porter, the Federal Attorney General.

"I became involved in this after the late Prof Freda Briggs AO, Australia’s pre-eminent authority of child sexual abuse, asked me as a doctor, to support the mother, using my experience in trying to save other children to help them. The children had been taken from the mother and given to the father, despite multiple disclosures of abuse, so their sexual abuse continued for years.

"…Nearly 40 years of medicine have not provided me with greater grief and horror. My endeavours to protect abused children have resulted in the near complete destruction of my life. These were not my children, yet I could not as a moral man, or as a doctor turn my back on them, and leave them to be abused. I protected them, when the law utterly failed to protect them, because I could do nothing else: I would have been ashamed to do less. I knew I was breaking the law, I also knew that if I did not help them they would be returned for ongoing rape.

"I also knew that it is impossible to evade the law indefinitely, and… despite numerous disclosures by the abused children, to the child protection authorities, the perpetrators of child abuse remain at large, untroubled by the law. Contrast this to the vast AFP operation to apprehend those who risked everything to protect these children.

"The Medical Council of NSW have suspended my medical registration indefinitely. I believe that my actions were those of a moral man, following the best and the highest traditions of the medical profession."

Since Gumshoe started writing articles about the Family Court injustices they have been contacted by so many people describing how crucial evidence was discarded in sexual abuse cases; about how they were intimidated by authorities; how they have become financially destitute; and that children are just NOT believed. It seems it is a system that punishes anyone who dares to protect children.

Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorney Gets DUI Case Dismissed for US Military Veteran

Criminal Defense Attorney Seppi Esfandi Obtains Dismissal for Client Who Honorably Served in the Military and was Diagnosed with PTSD.

I'm always happy to obtain a dismissal for my client, and I'm especially satisfied to give back to the men and women of our armed forces. I feel a great debt of gratitude.”

— Seppi Esfandi

LOS ANGELES, CA , UNITED STATES, October 31, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Getting a DUI (Driving Under the Influence) case pursuant to California Penal Code Sections 23152(a) and 23152(b) is exceedingly difficult. However, attorney Seppi Esfandi of the Esfandi Law Group, did nothing less when he received a dismissal for a US military veteran's DUI when he demonstrated to the Court she was suffering from PTSD.

In order to qualify, according to California Penal Code § 1001.80(a)(1), also known as the Military Diversion Program. According to § 1001.80(a)(2), in order to qualify for military diversion, the person should be suffering from, as a direct result of their military service, one or more of the following:

-Sexual trauma,
-Traumatic brain injury (“TBI”),
-Post-traumatic stress disorder (“PTSD”),
-Substance abuse, or
-Mental health problems.

One would need to either be a current, active-duty member of the armed forces, or be a veteran of said armed forces.

Attorney Seppi Esfandi was able to show that his client was raped while in the military in the 90's, and as a result suffered from PTSD, and was in treatment for trauma. A beaming Esfandi said after the dismissal: "I'm always happy to obtain a dismissal for my client, and I'm especially satisfied to give back to the men and women of our armed forces. I feel a great debt of gratitude."

Many of our military veterans acquire trauma and mental health conditions as a result of their service to our country. This law recognizes that they should be given leeway for their sacrifices.

Purple Heart Homes, Think Broader, and Wheelhouse Media Launch Virtual Reality Experience to Create Empathy Experience

Virtual Reality Goggles to launch at Elder Gallery as part of the Vicarious multi-disciplinary exhibition, to enable empathy for disabled veterans

People who view the Virtual Reality Programs will experience an entirely new way of seeing what these disabled veterans face … and as a result, gain a deeper empathy for what they go through…”

— John Gallina, Executive Director & Co-fouder of Purple Heart Homes

STATESVILLE, NC, UNITED STATES, October 31, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Purple Heart Homes (www.phhusa.org) is pleased to announce the launch of its series of Virtual Reality Experiences, inviting dialog around issues related to veterans and the veteran experience and using art as the vehicle for reflection and discussion. On November 1, 2018, Purple Heart Homes will introduce its first Virtual Reality Program, which focuses on a Service Connected Disabled Veteran who lost both of his legs as a result of his deployment in Vietnam.

To create the Virtual Realty Experience, Purple Heart Homes worked with Think Broader Foundation and Wheelhouse Media Foundation. Think Broader Foundation is a 501(c)3 woman-led non-profit that promotes creative storytelling to promote empathy. Through a Cultural Vision grant from the Arts & Science Council, Think Broader Foundation partnered with Wheelhouse Media Foundation, which supports non-profit entities who do not have the financial or human resources to adequately market themselves in an increasingly content-driven media world. Also a 501(c)3, the Wheelhouse Media Foundation provides digital content creation to other charitable organizations, allowing them to more fully share their stories, elevate awareness of their efforts, and more successfully achieve strategic objectives. Think Broader and Wheelhouse, together with Purple Heart Homes, will produce a series of “empathy experiences” using virtual reality film production. The first experience, which will be shown at the Vicarious art exhibition being held on November 1 at the Elder Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina, will allow users to immerse themselves in the life of a double amputee war veteran to better understand the challenges of living with disabilities and aging in place as well as “life hacks” for overcoming adversity.

The Vicarious art exhibition is a multi-disciplinary exhibition that will also feature paintings, drawings, glass work, objects and sculpture, and a documentary. Many of these works were created by veterans, as well as by other artists from around the country. The Virtual Reality Project was produced by writer, academic, speaker, and Army veteran Paula Kranz Broadwell. The entire exhibition will invite conversation around the power of art to reach into the psyche in a unique and powerful way.

More than 4 million Service Connected Disabled Veterans live in the United States today (U.S. Census Bureau, https://www.census.gov/newsroom/facts-for-features/2017/veterans-day.html), and over 50 percent of veterans 65 years of age and older live in homes built in the 1950’s and 1960’s that often are no longer suited to meet their needs because of their ages and disabilities. John Gallina, CEO and Co-founder of Purple Heart Homes, is excited about the potential for this Virtual Reality Experience to help civilians understand what disabled veterans experience on a daily basis, and is grateful for the partnership with Think Broader and Wheelhouse Foundations. “Part of our mission at Purple Heart Homes is to provide housing solutions designed out of necessity that fit the specific needs of veterans of all ages and from all eras. People who view the Virtual Reality Programs will experience an entirely new way of seeing what these disabled veterans face, the housing challenges that exist for many of them, and as a result, gain a deeper empathy and level of compassion for what they go through on a daily basis."

Please join Purple Heart Homes and its partners in thinking about the value that a safe and
accessible home brings to our veterans, who have sacrificed so much for each of us. Please
consider donating to Purple Heart Homes, volunteering for a project, or starting a Chapter in your community. There are so many more of these veterans who need our help. Visit www.phhusa.org to learn more about how you can help Purple Heart Homes in its mission to provide housing solutions for Service Connected Disabled and Aging Veterans.

Hundreds Gather to Protest the Psychiatric Drugging and Shocking of Children

The Citizens Commission on Human Rights held a demonstration in Orlando at the Psych Congress protesting the drugging and shocking of children.

We want to know why ECT, which has been condemned as torture by the United Nations, is being used on children.”

— Diane Stein, President CCHR Florida

ORLANDO, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, October 31, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), a non-profit mental health watchdog dedicated to the protection of children, held a demonstration in Orlando at the Psych Congress protesting the drugging and electroshocking of children.

Marching through the streets to the chant of “Don’t Drug Our Kids! Don’t Shock Our Kids! Leave Our Kids Alone!” hundreds of men, women and children made their voices heard at the 2018 Psych Congress in Orlando. Organized to raise awareness on the labeling, drugging and electroshocking of children by the Florida chapter of CCHR, the protest received tremendous support from those witnessing the event.

Currently over 8 million U.S. children are being prescribed psychiatric drugs, with more than 1 million between the ages of zero to five and reports show that psychotropic drug prescriptions among babies doubled from 2013 to 2014 despite the more than 400,000 adverse reaction reports filed with the U.S. FDA. [1,2,3]

Even more disturbing is the fact that the American Psychiatric Association is now lobbying the FDA, which regulates the electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) device, to allow them broader use of electroshock on the public, including use on children, stating “Having access to a rapid and effective treatment such as ECT is especially meaningful in children and adolescents.” [4]

“We want to know why psychiatric drugs for kids are being promoted so heavily to parents, teachers and health care professionals,” said Diane Stein, president of CCHR Florida. “And we want to know why ECT, which has been condemned as torture by the United Nations, is being used on children.”

In light of the fact that the FDA admits ECT can cause cardiovascular complications, memory loss, cognitive impairment, brain damage and death and that psychiatrists admit they do not know how ECT “works,” CCHR is calling upon the state of Florida to ban the electroshock (ECT) device. Those interested are asked to sign the petition. To learn more, please call 727-442-8820 or visit www.cchrflorida.org.

About CCHR: Initially established by the Church of Scientology and renowned psychiatrist Dr. Thomas Szasz in 1969, CCHR’s mission is to eradicate abuses committed under the guise of mental health and enact patient and consumer protections. L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology, first brought psychiatric imprisonment to wide public notice: “Thousands and thousands are seized without process of law, every week, over the ‘free world’ tortured, castrated, killed. All in the name of ‘mental health,’” he wrote in March 1969.

Rev. Frederick Shaw: Rallying the NAACP to End Psychiatric Abuse of African American Children

The Citizens Commission on Human Rights applauds debut of a new documentary highlighting one man’s fight against the multi-billion dollar psychiatric industry.

Today, African Americans are over-represented in foster care, the juvenile justice system, prison and the homeless, where they are candidates for psychiatric oppression—drugs—and other abuse.”

— Reverend Fred Shaw

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, October 30, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — CCHR, a non-profit mental health watchdog dedicated to the protection of children, applauds the debut of a new documentary highlighting one man’s fight against the multi-billion dollar psychiatric industry.

In a new documentary in “The Voices for Humanity” series on the Scientology TV network, human rights advocate Rev. Frederick Shaw, Jr. takes on the multi-billion dollar psychiatric interests in drugging and electroshocking children, especially in his African American community. As the international spokesperson for the international headquarters of CCHR and a Vice President of the Inglewood-South Bay branch of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), Rev. Shaw championed the national NAACP’s unanimous passage of two resolutions opposing electroshock treatment and psychotropic drugging of children.

“Psychiatry has never been a friend of African Americans,” Shaw states. And today, he adds, that enmity is shown in the alarming rate of African American children placed in foster care or in the juvenile justice system where they are labeled with a mental disorder as a pretext to be given psychotropic drugs.

Shaw is a powerful voice steeped in firsthand experience: A native of Compton, California, and a former Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy he co-founded an organization contracted to serve at-risk youth from ages 12–18 years old. He found there was an over representation of African American children in foster care and the juvenile justice system. Here they were targets for mind-altering drugs, which he refused to give adolescents in his care. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors awarded him for his work with foster care children and youth on probation. [1]

Through his work with CCHR, he also became aware that electroshock treatment—the psychiatric practice of sending up to 460 volts of electricity through the brain to treat depressed moods, while knowing that this cannot cure—spurred him to lead a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of the brain-damaging effects of the treatment and call for an end to the abuse. Last year, as a Vice President of the Inglewood-South Bay branch of the NAACP, Shaw helped obtain a national NAACP resolution supporting a ban on ECT for children, adolescents and young adults.

He also helped achieve a similar resolution to protect foster care and other children from psychotropic drugs. As Shaw points out, African-American children are placed in foster care at twice the rate of white children and are more likely to remain in foster care longer and less likely to be returned home. By the time they reach the age of 18, 53 percent of black children in the U.S. experience a child protective services investigation compared to 37 percent of children in general. [2,3]

The unanimously passed national NAACP resolution calls for legislative protections for foster children, stating: “Foster children are being given cocktails of powerful psychotropic drugs and federal inspectors found more than half the children nationwide are poorly monitored.” According to studies and drug regulatory agency warnings, these drugs have adverse effects, including stroke, pancreatitis, obesity, and diabetes. A variety of drugs targeted towards the central nervous system are associated with cardiac side effects, including arrhythmia and sudden death. [4,5,6]

• The Government Accountability Office (GAO) estimates that up to 39 percent of foster care children are prescribed psychotropic drugs. [7]
• The Congressional Research Service also found the number of children in foster care on a psychiatric drug was more than four times the rate among children overall. [8]
• An analysis of national Medicaid claims for foster youth found 49 percent were taking antipsychotics and 48 percent were on antidepressants despite a "black box" warning — the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) most serious drug labeling — that antidepressants may increase the risk of suicidal thinking and behavior in some children and adolescents. [9]
• Psychiatrists prescribe 93 percent of the drugs dispensed to foster care youths, according to study published in Pediatrics. [10]

“Today, African Americans are over-represented in foster care, the juvenile justice system, prison and the homeless, where they are candidates for psychiatric oppression—drugs—and other abuse,” Shaw states. “Therefore, I feel privileged that the Scientology Network chose my work for its Voice for Humanity series because it will further raise very necessary awareness about the abuses and racism that occurs in the mental health field to help put an end to these. It provides a voice to a wider community—those that may be silenced by drugs and electroshock or who are being forced onto brain damaging ‘treatment’ simply because they are Black or a minority,” Shaw says.

Rev. Shaw regularly tours community leaders and groups through CCHR International’s “Psychiatry: An Industry of Death” museum that details the history of psychiatry’s abuses, including racism dating back to the “Father of American psychiatry,” Benjamin Rush, who declared in the late 1700s that African Americans were “diseased.”

“Reverend Shaw is an inspiration to us all,” stated Diane Stein president of the Florida chapter of CCHR. “His dedication and passion to fight for justice is unparalleled.” Ms. Stein is also featured on the Voices for Humanity series for her work in exposing unjust involuntary psychiatric examination of children and other mental health human rights abuses.

More about CAPS
The Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy (CAPS) is Chicago’s newest weapon against crime. The CAPS organization cooperates with the community to reduce crime and promote a tighter kinship with the communities they serve.

What makes CAPS innovative? It brings the police, community, and other city agencies together, to identify and solve neighborhood crime problems, rather than simply react to their symptoms after the fact.

The CAP strategy is supported through:
Neighborhood-based beat officers;
Regular Beat Community Meetings involving police and residents;
Extensive training for both police and community;
More efficient use of City services that impact crime;
And new technology to help police and residents target crime hot spots.

Rather than focusing on all that is wrong around the world, Rock for Human Rights seeks to uplift and educate its audience through the power of live music and film.”

— Wil Seabrook

WASHINGTON DC, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, UNITED STATES, October 29, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Rock and roll music group stops in Washington DC to educate youth and Congress as a part of their 30 Cities in 30 Days National tour across the country on how to protect their basic human rights.

Rock for Human Rights (R4HR) is a rock and roll group with a mission: to educate kids about their human rights through music. They are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights with their “30 Days—30 Rights Tour,” hitting 30 cities in 30 days throughout October 2018. Rather than playing in clubs or concert halls, most of their venues are schools.

“Rather than focusing on all that is wrong around the world, Rock for Human Rights seeks to uplift and educate its audience through the power of live music and film. The ripple effect of an entire generation of young people educated on their fundamental rights can’t be overstated. Knowledge is the first step to understanding and genuine change.” says R4HR founder and lead singer Wil Seabrook.

The concerts were done in collaboration with the Youth for Human Rights National Office. Erica Rodgers, National Director for Youth for Human Rights International said “When former first lady, Eleanor Roosevelt helped draft the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, her intention was to have the document taught in all schools across the country so children would grow up knowing their human rights and respecting the rights of others but that never happened! Instead, kids were left vulnerable to human rights abuses in a world where they don’t know how to defend their own fundamental human rights. We are trying to right that wrong by implementing human rights education into current history and global studies classes.”

In partnership with Youth for Human Rights, Rock for Human Rights uses the power of rock music, social networking, and visual media, specifically the short film The Story of Human Rights and 30 accompanying public service announcements that beautifully illustrate each of the basic rights fundamental to every person.

About Rock for Human Rights:

Rock for Human Rights (R4HR) is a 501(c)3 registered nonprofit dedicated to using engaging videos, live music and lively discussions to inspire and enlighten audiences on their basic human rights. Youth for Human Rights International and R4HR have partnered to bring the kind of uplifting, engaging human rights education that provides students with concrete steps they can personally take to bring civility, respect and open communication back into every community.
