JSI continues to work with Title X Family Planning and Teen Pregnancy Prevention programs, as they adapt and thrive during this transformative period.
BOSTON, MA, USA, October 15, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Grantees in the federally-funded Title X Family Planning and Teen Pregnancy Prevention programs are adapting to and thriving during this transformative period in health care, as they meet the needs of their communities amidst additional challenges due to the COVID-19 public health emergency.
JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. has been a proud partner to these programs, and we are pleased to have been recently awarded three coordinated cooperative agreements to establish and operate a new National Training Center for Family Planning and Teen Pregnancy Prevention, with funding from the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Population Affairs (OPA) and Office on Women’s Health (OWH).
The Training Center will provide high-quality training and technical assistance (TTA) using innovative, evidence-based techniques and content that will help grantees in the Title X Family Planning and Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) programs and their networks achieve their goals. JSI will build on more than 40 years of experience building capacity of family planning, women’s health, and adolescent health providers and programs to deliver high-quality services. Our work will support OPA’s and OWH’s missions to promote health across the reproductive lifespan through innovative, evidence-based adolescent health and family planning programs, services, strategic partnerships, evaluation, and research.
Since 1978, JSI has been continuously funded by OPA to provide training and technical assistance to Title X service providers, most recently as the Family Planning National Training Center (FPNTC). Over the last four years, JSI managed the FPNTC to build Title X grantee capacity to expand networks, with a particular focus on translating research into practice.
“As the new Training Center, we are thrilled to continue our tradition of supporting Title X for more than 40 years, as we integrate TTA that also focuses on adolescent health and preconception health, critical periods in the reproductive life span.” commented Reesa Webb, JSI’s Project Director.
