The Cumming Donation Station will be accepting clothes, clean furniture, major appliances and other items. “The most important consideration is that the items be in good working condition, we want people to have the best we can offer so we ask that our supporters test their donations prior to delivering them” says Rivera.

You can see a noticeable increase in people selling and donating items on NextDoor and Facebook Marketplace. IRGC’s Sinister Move to Expel Doctors without Borders (MSF) from Iran is a Crime Against Humanity

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) expelled from Iran

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) expelled from Iran

Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC), condemns Iran’s move in refusing the aid and onsite support from MSF.

Mullahs are looking for cash to fund their malign activities and terrorism. Further financial aid to this regime will be used against the people of Iran, global peace and health.”

— Dr. Majid Sadeghpour

WASHINGTON, DC, USA, March 26, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — On March 22, the renowned international non-governmental group, Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) or Doctors Without Borders sent a consignment of medical aid to Iran, including one field inflatable hospital, medicines, respiratory masks, and protective clothing. Recognizing how bad Iran has been hit with COVID-19, MSF also sent a 50-bed inflatable hospital and a 9-person emergency team to Isfahan which is the second most affected province in Iran. Within hours, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), designated as a terrorist organization by the United States, acted on the order of Iran’s Supreme leader and called for halting of such a vital mission to help critically ill patients in Iran.
Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC), condemns Iran’s move in refusing the aid and onsite support from MSF. The world community must hold the Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, Iran’s President, Hassan Rouhani accountable for their crimes against the people of Iran and the global health. For the record, Iran holds the highest number of coronavirus in the world. According to data collected by the National Council of Resistance of Iran, to date, there have been more than 10,500 deaths across 219 cities and towns in Iran.

While the death toll rises in Iran, the regime rejects US humanitarian aid, expels MSF and misappropriated some $1 billion in international aid intended to help ordinary citizens in recent days. Lack of transparency, accountability, supporting the needs of the affected population and refusal to employ best practices such as quarantining hard-hit areas are not just a threat to the people of Iran but the global health.

The sinister regime of Mullahs is working hard to reshape the narratives on the COVID-19 pandemic and portrays as a biological attack that is exacerbated with sanctions. For the record:

1. With the continued hiding of the truth on the COVID-19 death toll in Iran, the international community is operating with missing critical data to combat this global pandemic. For the sake of global health, the United Nations, must hold Iran accountable for lack of transparency and condemn its continued efforts to hide the truth. Examination of mass graves across Iran in recent weeks demonstrates the depth of the tragedy in Iran.
2. The disinformation campaign led by Ali Khamenei, Hassan Rouhani, IRGC, and Javad Zarif is deliberate, purposeful, and shortsighted in order to shift the blame to others. The world community must be diligent and use the example of halting MSF vital mission as a lens to examine the regime’s intentions. Mullahs are looking for cash to fund their malign activities and terrorism. Further financial aid to this regime will be used against the people of Iran, global peace and health.
3. For the sake of Iranian people, the World Health Organization and all relevant international bodies must step in to ensure medical aid is reaching the health professionals and the patients in this time of crisis.
4. For the sake of combating terrorism and preventing further info-terrorism on the COVID-19 pandemic in Iran, the United States should add Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) and all its related lobbying entities to the Foreign Terrorist Organizations list.

COVID-19: More Barriers for the Severely Injured from the Vaginal Mesh Debacle

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services announced elective surgeries, non-essential medical, surgical & dental procedures delayed during the Novel Coronavirus.

The manufacturers may attempt to delay discovery—suggesting a delay is necessary because of the virus. Our position will remain…”

— Dr. Greg Vigna

SANTA BARBARA, CA, UNITED STATES, March 25, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — On March 18, 2020, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services (CMS) announced that all elective surgeries, non-essential medical, surgical, and dental procedures are delayed during the 2019 Novel Coronavirus outbreak.

COVID-19 has resulted in significant barriers for the neurologically injured victims of the vaginal mesh debacle that continues across the country as the few providers with the skill, knowledge, experience, and training to diagnose and treat pudendal, obturator, and ilioinguinal neuralgia caused by Ethicon, Boston Scientific, Coloplast, and American Medical Systems are now sometimes prevented from treating patients.

Dr. Greg Vigna, MD, JD, national pharmaceutical injury attorney, practicing physician, and Certified Life Care Planner states, “Over the past couple weeks I have received word that neurologically injured clients with long awaited appointments with leaders in the field of pelvic pain, therapeutic injections, and surgical procedures including pudendal nerve decompression have been unable to be treated because of COVID-19. Obviously, the rationing of medical resources and diversion of medical personnel in preparation of waves of patients in acute respiratory failure is affecting women with mesh related conditions. It is anticipated this may continue for months. Couple this with the risk of travel that likely will continue until a vaccine has been developed for COVID—19, this very vulnerable population of women will be further compromised.”

Dr. Vigna adds, “These are desperate women who have been stuck in the MDL for years, awaiting remand, only recently learning that their symptoms of tailbone pain, pain with sitting, clitoral numbness, and inability to wear tight pants are caused by nerve damage from the arms of transobturator slings. Others are newly injured women from retropubic slings with pain from the ilioinguinal nerve. The women new and old simply want to get better physically.”

As to COVID-19 and its effect on the litigation, Dr. Vigna says, “The manufacturers may attempt to delay discovery—suggesting a delay is necessary because of the virus. Our position will remain that litigation should go forward through various alternative means if necessary so that future care and the cost of that care for the catastrophically injured can be timely presented to the jury. Our clients still need to try and become medically stable and they will need treatment to their life expectancy. That is certain.”

Greg Vigna, MD, JD, operates a California and Washington DC law firm and has teamed up with Martin Baughman, a national pharmaceutical injury trial law firm from Dallas, Texas, and together they represent women with catastrophic pain syndromes whose claims are proceeding down the path to justice.

UN Urged to Protect Tamil Prisoners of War in Sri Lanka: TGTE

Tamil Prisoners of War

* Tamil POWs were massacred in Prisons since 1983. * The government of Sri Lanka has an international legal obligation to ensure the safety of these prisoners

Even though there are press reports that Tamil POWs have been moved to another prison, still there are concerns for their safety, given the history of massacres of Tamil POWs since 1983””

— Visivanathan Rudrakumaran

NEW YORK, USA, March 25, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ —

Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) has urged UN to Protect Tamil Prisoners of War (POW) from Sinhalese prisoners.

A letter was sent on this issue by the Prime Minister of TGTE Mr. Visuvanathan Rudrakumaran to the UN Resident Coordinator for Sri Lanka Ms. Hanaa Singer. Letters were also sent to India, US and the Red Cross.

Press reports indicate that a number of Sinhalese prisoners have attempted to escape the prison in an effort to protect themselves from the spread of the Covid-19 contagion.

TGTE recently received a message from relatives of Tamil prisoners of war being held in the prison without charge, that Sinhalese inmates are attempting to coerce them to join in their efforts. These Tamil POWs do not want to participate in this prison insurrection and as a result are under threat by Sinhalese prisoners.

“Even though there are press reports that Tamil POWs have been moved to another prison, still there are concerns for their safety, given the history of massacres of Tamil POWs since 1983” said Mr. Rudrakumaran.

“There is also grave concern on the part of the POW families that this unrest will be used as a pretext for the Sri Lankan government to instigate a massacre of Tamil POWs.”

THIS FEAR IS BASED ON SRI LANKA’S HISTORY OF MASSACRES OF TAMIL POWs SINCE 1983:

1) In 1983, during the pogrom against the Tamil population, 53 Tamil political prisoners in Welikada prison (including a Christian priest) were brutally tortured and killed. On case, a prisoner’s eyes and testicles were gouged from his body.

2) In 2000, a Sinhala mob massacred 26 Tamil prisoners in Bindunuwewa. No one has ever been brought to justice for the massacre of Tamil prisoners in Sri Lankan prisons.

3) Similarly, three Tamil political prisoners were killed in the Kalutara prison.

The Third Geneva Convention (Sri Lanka is a signatory) protects the Tamil prisoners currently held in Anuradhapura prison. The Convention provides comprehensive protections for these POWs. Article 13 of the Third Geneva Convention provides:

“Prisoners of war must at all times be humanely treated. Any unlawful act or omission by the Detaining Power causing death or seriously endangering the health of a prisoner of war in its custody is prohibited, and will be regarded as a serious breach of the present Convention. In particular, no prisoner of war may be subjected to physical mutilation or to medical or scientific experiments of any kind which are not justified by the medical, dental or hospital treatment of the prisoner concerned and carried out in his interest. Likewise, prisoners of war must at all times be protected, particularly against acts of violence or intimidation and against insults and public curiosity. Measures of reprisal against prisoners of war are prohibited.”

“The government of Sri Lanka has an international legal obligation to ensure the safety of these prisoners. I request that you raise this matter in a direct and forthright way and remind the government of its important obligations towards these prisoners” concluded Mr. Rudrakumaran.

ABOUT THE TRANSNATIONAL GOVERNMENT OF TAMIL EELAM (TGTE):

The Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) is a democratically elected Government of over a million strong Tamils (from the island of Sri Lanka) living in several countries around the world.

TGTE was formed after the mass killing of Tamils by the Sri Lankan Government in 2009.

TGTE thrice held internationally supervised elections among Tamils around the world to elect 132 Members of Parliament. It has two chambers of Parliament: The House of Representatives and the Senate and also a Cabinet.

TGTE is leading a campaign to realize the political aspirations of Tamils through peaceful, democratic, and diplomatic means and its Constitution mandates that it should realize its political objectives only through peaceful means. It’s based on the principles of nationhood, homeland and self-determination.

TGTE seeks that the international community hold the perpetrators of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide against the Tamil people to account. TGTE calls for a referendum to decide the political future of Tamils.

The Prime Minister of TGTE is Mr. Visuvanathan Rudrakumaran, a New York based lawyer.

BACKGROUND:

Tamils in the island of Sri Lanka faced repeated mass killings in 1958, 1977, and 1983 and the mass killings in 2009 prompted UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to appoint a Panel of Experts to report on the scale of the killings.

According to UN internal review report on Sri Lanka, over 70 thousand Tamils were killed in six months in early 2009 and Tamil women were sexually assaulted and raped by the Sri Lankan Security forces. A report by the International Truth and Justice Project (ITJP) published details of Sri Lankan Military run "Rape Camps", where Tamil women are being held as sex slaves. There are over 90,000 Tamil war widows and thousands of Tamils disappeared due the conflict.

According to this UN report, the killings and other abuses that took place amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity. Independent experts believe that there are elements of these abuses that constitute an act of genocide.

Members of the Sri Lankan security forces are almost exclusively from the Sinhalese community and the victims are all from the Tamil community. A Buddhist Monk shot and killed a Sri Lankan Prime Minister 1959 for having talks with Tamils.

Tamils overwhelmingly voted in a Parliamentary election in 1977 to establish an independent and sovereign country called Tamil Eelam. This Parliamentary election was conducted by the Sri Lankan Government.

“Food Truck Army” Helps in COVID-19 Recovery

Food Truck Army still serves in crisis

The “Food Truck Army” fills gaps in food access to help continue Covid-19 recovery.

Food Truck Army - Join the fight or suggest a mission.

The “Food Truck Army” is looking areas to help.

How can the Food Truck Army help solve food access gaps

Food Truck Army – Suggest a Mission

Food access for some such as truck drivers has become a major issue with COVID-19. The "Food Truck Army" is organizing food trucks nationwide to fill the gaps.

These guys are the modern-day equivalent to the cavalry, and we need to help semi-trucks with access to food any way we can.”

— Eric Normand

CARRIERE, MISSISSIPPI, UNITED STATES, March 25, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 25, 2020

“Food Truck Army” Helps in COVID-19 Recovery

Food trucks may be the answer to the problem of truckers not being able to find meals while on the road.

As the coronavirus brings the world to a halt, many unexpected issues are arising, but one industry is primed to take on the challenge – food trucks.

“We’re hearing so many stories about people and even industries needing access to food now that restaurants are closing and grocery stores are empty. And this was unimaginable just two weeks ago,” said Eric Normand, founder of FoodTruckArmy.com.

With over 25,000 food trucks in the United States and hundreds of thousands worldwide, Food Truck Army is mobilizing food truck operators to meet the world’s disruptions.

Normand warns that most folks haven’t given much thought to the critical importance of truck drivers.

“Right now, the world depends on semi-trucks to transport medical supplies, canned food, toilet paper – everything needed to sustain us through these days. With restaurants closing, many stops that truck drivers rely on daily are no longer open.

“Truckers are driving longer hours while many of their normal stops are closed. They’re parking on busy roadsides to get in fast food lines but are being told they can’t be served if they’re not in a vehicle.

“The trucks are too big to go through a drive-thru. Truckers are extremely frustrated and can’t waste time searching for food while transporting so many critical goods”, Normand said. “These guys are the modern-day equivalent to the cavalry, and we need to help semi-trucks with access to food any way we can.”

According to government officials, the war against Covid-19 could last several months, and leaders worldwide have strongly encouraged limiting all social activity. In fact, more and more states are calling for all residents to remain in their homes except for a few specific, necessary activities. Drastic actions are being taken and severe disruptions are coming to light.

“Disruptions to the food supply chain would have drastic consequences”, said Normand. “We can’t allow that to happen, and we’re doing something about it.”

FoodTruckArmy.com is a free service that connects “food truckers” to “missions” suggested by citizens worldwide. Those missions could be as simple as meeting at apartment complexes while schools are cancelled or large factories that require employees to remain on site and avoid outside contact.

When asked if this was a charitable cause, Normand highlighted the problem of food access.

“Many governments are kicking in with funds to help their citizens. That’s awesome. Food truckers have also been severely impacted by this because they rely on events, festivals, parties, & workplaces to make a living, but most of them have been cancelled.

“Food truckers could just wait for things to rebound, but food truckers are hard-working and love to serve others. It’s what drives them – the smiles their food creates! So, we saw a need and know the heart of people is to help one another; food truckers are amazing people that can make a difference to provide food access where it’s difficult or where it helps to win this war.

“Most food trucks will charge normal prices. This is their livelihood, but in some cases they may donate certain items or offer discounts to help where they can. They know how serious this situation is.”

Normand said all food truck & trailer operators are encouraged to participate, and the public is encouraged to suggest missions where they see need by going to FoodTruckArmy.com and suggesting a mission. Missions will be evaluated and the ones meeting certain criteria are assigned to trucks in the region whenever possible. Those food truckers will determine how they can assist.

“FoodTruckArmy does not charge for any of this. We just want to help everyone involved,” said April Hurd, a volunteer.
